Over a thousand men and women, including many Jews, protested against Israel's apartheid policies, the brutal siege of Gaza and the recent attacks by heavily armed Israeli riot police on men, women and journalists at Al Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam. The mosque itself was flooded with tear gas and hundreds of Palestinians were arrested.
