If you have come here, it may be because I have begun deleting files and images on this project. The project should use commons. All of the files here that I have seen are copyright violations. On behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation stewards have an obligation to tend to these things when/if the local community is not. fr33kman 14:27, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]

Right, but could you please wait to deleting these files; you may have seen we have are deleting files and have told people to download their images in Wikimedia Commons, but it takes some time. Be patient, we are not ignoring Wikipedia Foundation, but let us do this, so no unique photomaterial is getting lost. As you know Kurdish culture has not developed freely, until very recently, and this anarchy is due to that. Also thank you for your support when we elected the new Burocrate/Admins not long ago. --MikaelF 15:32, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
There are thousands of files needing deleting since 2004, many of which were uploaded by long gone editors, so how long should we wait? fr33kman 15:40, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
Three editors are working on this now (Ghuby, Gomada, MikaelF), and we are aware of this issue. Is there any easy way to transfer files from Kurdish Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons? I don't know how long time this will take, but we are actively working on ammending this situation. Be patient. --MikaelF 16:00, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
Just the three of you will take years. Each file has to have the source, copyright, permissions and license. Unless you are the original uploader how will you know all these things? Additionally, files like this are not allowed on Commons because commons doesn't permit fair-use. That file is therefore a clear delete, as are any files the three of you didn't upload unless you know all the required data. Believe it or not I'm actually trying to help your wiki. fr33kman 16:47, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
You can't have files like this on commons OR on here. Clear (c) :) fr33kman 16:50, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
The only tools I know of are linked to at the bottom of this page. I don't know if they will work on kuwiki though. fr33kman 16:54, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
Try, CommonsHelper you need a TSUC account, but that's easy to get and the page links to it. fr33kman 16:57, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
Thank you. This is possitive help that we need. Honestly, logos (political or commercial, TV or radio) and screenshots are of less concern to me; what I am worried about are those files uploaded in good faith by people or historical material the source of which is impossible to trace back. Is any Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) applicable to ku.Wikipedia? I am thinking of book covers as well, to which I think Kurdish editorials wouldn't doubt give permission. --MikaelF 17:22, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
You are welcome. Of course we understand that your articles must be properly imaged and that's important to all projects. You say you are working on it just don't be too surprised if people do show up and delete really obvious violations of long gone editors. :) fr33kman 19:47, 14 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]

Redirection to Wikimedia Commons[çavkaniyê biguhêre]

Hi, I changed this Upload a picture [1] page this morning, telling that from August 16th pictures must be uploaded at Wikipedia Commons, and have a licence. As I wasn't able to change the Upload form today, I added a text telling NOT to upload picture here... We shall improve this page asp and send a message to the person who uploaded the last Logos, etc, and eventually start to send messages to people who uploaded pictures without licences in the past. --MikaelF 16:39, 16 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]

Ok, thanks! You have clearly got this in hand. Let me know if you need any help. Thx :) fr33kman 18:29, 16 tebax 2011 (UTC)[bersiv bide]
